The society in which we live has a whole set of rules and norms. There are things that we can do and those that we cannot do while we are a part of it. However, our Indian celebrities tend to break these rules very often. Many a times, they are opposed for such acts but then most of them li to live their life in their own desired manner without considering what is said or judged about them.

May it be marriage, relationships, child-bearing or even lifestyle; our celebrities are known to challenge all these institutions through their activities. Here are some popular examples of such incidents:

  1. Kamal Hassan and Sarika entering a Live-in Relationship-

Live in relationships are no big deal today; however, back in the days when Kamal Hassan and Sarika were youngsters (1988), it was more like a banned subject or a taboo. Moreover, Kamal Hassan was married to Vani Ganapathy for ten years already. However, he and Sarika broke all conventions when they opted to live together without being tied in wedlock. Soon after, Kamal Hassan sought divorce from Vani and married Sarika. They both had two kids later.

Kamal and Sarika’s was the first incident in Bollywood where two individuals entered a live in relationship openly. However, today we have several similar examples; Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Ranvir Shorey and Konkana Sen Sharma etc.

  1. Farah Khan having Kids through IVF

Having kids through the nature’s course has always been the accepted norm of this society, but taking the help of medical technologies to experience the joys of motherhood is not something that is accepted openly. However, it was Farah Khan who too this bold step at first by openly coming out about her triplets been implanted in her womb through IVF technique. Farah has always been open about this step and is a proud mother of three now. At the same time, she opened this channel for many other stars who would have been deprived of the joys of parenthood if it were not for the IVF mode. Following her footsteps, actors Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao and actor Shahrukh Khan had kids through IVF.

  1. Sushmita Sen, a Single Woman, adopting Kids

Adoption has always been a controversial topic in the society; and it tends to aggravate when the person seeking to adopt a kid is a single woman. Sushmita Sen went on to face this controversy when she adopted a girl child, Renee at the age of 25. At 35, she adopted Alisah, another girl child and has been raising them two perfectly since then. Sushmita broke all conventions when she took this step; but she also proved herself to be a strong and loving woman with it. Sushmita, a former Miss Universe, proved herself to be a real world beauty with this bold step of hers!

  1. Sridevi being Pregnant before getting Married

In the late 1990s, just before her marriage to an already married Boney Kapoor, Sridevi left the traditional society gaping with its mouth wide open when she revealed that she was expecting her first child. This was a taboo in the society then; however, Sridevi didn’t seem to be bothered about her image or her career at that point of time. Boney Kapoor married her before seeking divorce from his wife, Mona, which was again a step against the conventional society. Pretty recently, actress Celina Jaitley was also reported to be expecting her twins before getting married to her present day husband. However, in the present day context, it is not that big a deal to talk of!

Our favorite celebrities are always found breaking the customs and traditions of the society; whether to seek the media attention or just out of their reputation of being the trend setters. However, by this they do show the society a new way to live life!
